I just received an e-mail message today from a music promoting source promoting a new Led Zeppelin tribute band called "Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience".
As most Led Zeppelin fans know, Jason Bonham is the son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham and he has played with the remaining three original Led Zeppelin members on different occasions in the past and did extremely well sitting behind the drum kit with them, so this tribute band is a bit different than most tribute bands, but I'm still not sure this is a good idea or not.
Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were talking about trying to make a Led Zeppelin reunion happen the past few years, but lead singer Robert Plant made it very clear that he wasn't interested in having that happen no matter how much money was involved, so this new tribute band led by Jason Bonham is the best we're going to get I guess
Tribute band members will include the following.
Jason Bonham: drums, percussion
Tony Catania: guitar
James Dylan: lead vocals
Michael Devin: bass guitar
Stephen LeBlanc: keyboards, pedal steel guitar
I haven't heard this line-up yet, so I can't make any comments on them at this point, but reviews have been very positive so far.
Positive reviews or not withstanding, how do you folks feel about this Led Zeppelin tribute band?
