Let me first thank everyone here for the great posts on this board! I am new not only to this site, but also the Mopar world in general. I am looking at buying my second car (69 440 R/T) and was hoping to get some advice. After looking at numerous photos this evening of both 68 and 69 Coronets I did not notice a hood scoop like the one on the car I was purchasing.

The owner/seller says that the hood is "period correct" and was an option for this vehicle, but I am uncertain of the information. Further, the hood is painted a matte black which is different from the rest of the vehicle which is a non-matte shiny black. The hood lock pins also don't seem right.

Anyone know what the real deal is? http://www.dodgecoronet.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif or http://www.dodgecoronet.com/forum/images/icons/icon13.gif

Yes the hood is period correct. it's a six-pack hood scoop. I'm not sure if it was avalible as an option. there are a couple of guys on this site. that should be able tell you.

Period correct is right but that hood was not available on the R/T. It only came on the 6 Pack Super Bees and Road Runners. The bulge hood was standard on the 69 R/T with the Ramcharger (twin scoop) hood optional.

Thats the hood that came on the A12 69 1/2 6 pack cars for sure. Doubt its an original piece though.

There has been one 1970 'Cuda to surface with a dealer installed 6 pack hood that was from the Sox & Martin catalog.

Nothing wrong with that hood at all. They look great.

Doc.

As I remember, wasn't that six pack hood fiberglass not steel?
