I am working on my'54 Coronet and I've run into a few snags.
This is the second time I've owned the car, the first time was in 1994-95, and it didn't take but a few months for my father and I to rebuild it.
After selling it, the man who purchased the car ruined it by cutting the top off and gutting it.
I bought the car back last year and can get it to turn over, but it will not fire. The wiring of the car was torn out and I'll admit I'm not %100 sure what's going on with it.
I went to school for automotive technology years ago, but this car is completely backwards from what has been drilled into my head. I see a black wire, and I think negative, red positive.
I felt like an idiot when I had wired most of the engine backwards. I've got it corrected, but still not firing.
I think it's the coil, I've got one with a built in resistor, but I think this is incorrect.
How do I go about getting spark with no ignition? (They lost the keys and ripped it out).
Admittedly, I am rusty and I am probably making a simple mistake.
Here's a video of what I can get it to do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh4FHp16gp4
