Sunday I pulled the engine and took 906 heads off to send to the machine shop Monday hoping they have good newa for me.

Poor Max looks pretty sad this afternoon.

Got new Crower parts and Mopar Performance parts sitting on the bench, the cam and lifters are already in.

440 is coming along now, I am still mocking up parts mostly but the bottom end is ready. We went with a lesser agressive cam than the .584 lift. It will be a Crower solid .529 289 duration.

Mike thinks I picked an old mans cam but I think it will be fine as long as if we ever race Max will take Ol Blue out.Rofl

I still need to fix a little power steering leak on top mount where hose fittings are, I think they are flat o-rings in there. Hardware store maybe ? Or just buy a seal kit?

I had a 10.9 cheater clutch on a 130 tooth flywheel, and am going to stick with it now I found another new disc at MP and had my preasure plate freshened up.

I'd drive out to Cali and race ya for pink slip... but I'd hate to see ya cry when Max gets loaded on a trailer destined for NJ....

Andy, I agree that having a camshaft set up for street use makes life a lot easier. I still have the original .284 .484 Mopar cam in my 440 in the Coronet and it is NOT a good street cam. It' has way to much valve overlap which leads to LOUSY vacuum output! :p Max isn't a drag race only car, so make it fun to drive on the street and longer cruises.

Luckily I have no vacuum accessories and a manual trans.

I am still long term planning a stroker EFI engine that will be more cruiser road trip type but cannot afford now, so I am going to have some fun with this 440 for a while. The 426 was just an experiment also and I had a many Smiles per mile with it and never intended it to last 30,000 miles but it did.

Just like to tinker as you can tell
