Opinions on pinion seal
#1
Has anyone here used the replacement pinion seal #18880 for #663602? Any problems with leaking?

What gear lube did you use to refill ? Did flange have a groove where seal rides? If so you can use a speedy sleeve to fix it.

Do you have the seal out yet? Need a OD size as there are two to pick from in my old NAPA book and one of them is the # you listed, and check for #s on old seal.
Careful not to damage seal where #s are if possible when removing.
NAPA
2.817" #46159
3.109" #49320 = SKF 18880

When you install new one put a little grease around lip and where spring is so it helps keep it from popping off on installation, and put sealer in splines of yokes when putting back together. Do not over torque

Andy no haven't pulled out yet was trying to make sure had correct part and procedure to do it.when i checked 18880 said didnt fit 50 coronet, but find one site that said 38-57.i also read they dont make a exact replacement thats why nothing shows up.you would think after all these years someone would confirmed a fittmit .theres a site yoyoparts where you can enter part # & it gives you all comparison s,but it says 55-57 .too much info just confuses the issue
