Pitman arm tips

I have bought a power steering box to Mopar ´73-´76 with large splines. Mopar ´62-´72 have the small splines. So now my original pitman arm with the small splines don´t fit . Does anyone know any Mopar model between ´73-´76 as the pitman arm fits straight onto a ´68 B body? I just do a check . Otherwise I order a fix arm.

Problem: You have swapped in a '73-up, or C-body (large spline) power steering box (a/k/a gear, chuck) into your '62-'72B or '70-72 E-Body -- and now you can't find a pitman arm to fit -- the splines are too small on your stocker!
Solution: this pitman arm will bolt in and is the answer!

Fits '62-'72 Dodge Charger, R/T, Coronet, Super Bee, '62-64 Polara, '62 Dart, Plymouth Savoy, Belvedere, Satellite, GTX, Road Runner etc., and '70-'72 E-bodies: Challenger and Barracuda.

Note that this is NOT a stock-replacement pitman arm, it will ONLY fit if you have the large-spline box! (Need a stock pitman? Check my other listings!)

Includes seal and locknut. This is the good stuff.

Not sure Tyrra, but it looks like you found the guy who know how to correct this. You might want to call/email him and make sure the length from center of spline to center of tapered ball stud and the offset are both the same. Good luck.

Thanks Rich , I just checked if anyone had any experience of this. I'll just have this steering box temporary until I have renovated
my matching number box.
So now I have ordered a fix arm because it seems to be the quickest way to correct this problem.

I went through this with my 67. They sent me the large sector box with the wrong pitman arm. I had to do a lot of research. But I found one that Moog and Raybestous make. It changed the wheel clocking a tad.

I hope you dont mind me asking Tyrra, what is the gain of converting to this spline box?

I was told that small sector steering boxes are not remanufactured for exchange anymore.
Yet you can get "your" small sector box rebuilt special ... $$$$$ ...
Also nobody makes the small sector pitman arm. Only the large is available.
I kept my small sector box and pitman arm. I paid the core to keep it.
That's the info I was given..
Was also told the large sector box is better than the older small sector one.

The reason I changed my steering box is that it leaked and it was super sloppy.
I went to napa and ordered a Cardone reman unit for my year, make and model not knowing there was ever a difference in small or large sector shaft sizes.

For those who don't know what they have? It could be a pain in the butt.
I kept my near perfect small sector pitman arm in case someday it's needed..
