Now that I have looked at the under chassis pictures...this car's beauty is merely skin deep. It's butt ugly under there! The car needs a total tear down and rebuild but would be worth the effort. Not wanting to knock the car around too much but that black krinkle trunk paint may be hiding some rust issues that have crept up from that ugliness under the car. Most times from what I have seen over the years, rust has all but ruined the filler panel under the back bumper, like on my Coronet. The car still has a lot going for it though and a really dedicated convertible lover would like to have this project. The back seat either has staining on it or the cat did a number on it before the photo shoot. Check out the passenger side sill plate, it's so corroded it shows in the picture. The leaf springs look saggy too. I think its' had a quicky paint job, newer top, maybe carpeting. Look at the trunk seal, it was painted over ragged rubber!

thebankerstoy Wrote:I totally agree about the exhaust tips and the REALLY unsightly upper radiator hose. I'd also completely replace the rest of the exhaust system when I removed those tips and I'd clean up all of the engine compartment wiring as well, but dang folks, those are REALLY easy things to fix while you're drooling over all of that beautiful silver and white!

Yup, you hit it on all counts, Richard, I was wondering if that's NOT the right radiator for that car?
Objects quickly DISAPPEAR in the rearview mirror and PLEASE stay seated until the ride comes to a complete stop!!

But what is up with the upper radiator hose?

Looks like it came from Bubbas school of upper and lower radiator hose grafting school. They should at least get the correct radiator, it would make the engine compartment look cleaner.

A Charger Steering wheel Rich?

In my neck of the woods, there is a mechanic shop that caters ONLY to the owners of said F-series trucks with those engines. That's ALL they work on and they are super busy all the time! Ford's better idea my patooty!
